Blogging is for the young at heart!

Welcome to my World

Hello all and thank you for letting me welcome you to my world.

I started out a poor Midwest, white girl…which is good because I didn’t want to come to planet Earth as “beef”, which, by the way, is a noble reason to come down to the planet. Anyway...

I tip my hat to those of you who decide to make that sacrifice and journey.

Editorial Cartooning, I believe, was instilled in me at a young age. Grew up in the sixties/seventies, era, wasn’t interested in politics. and, or whatnot, My thing was just trying to acclimate myself to my mother's “fly-by-the-night” ways. (that's a whole other editorial).

Anyway…

Dad and I used to spend Sunday mornings at our home in So Cal, reading the Sunday morning comics. The rest of my brood, (brother and sisters) would end up watching cartoons on the “boob-tube”. (Johny Quest was my favorite, by-the-way). Good times!

For the most part my childhood started out pretty well, and then,

One day, Mom got pissed off at Dad, Dad got pissed off at Mom,  Gramma got pissed off at both of them, and then it was over,

Yup! That's what booze does to ya..I’ll speak more on the subject matter later on throughout my blog.

Anyway,..

Long story short, Since the day I was born  I’ve  had a chip on my shoulder that has become the size of an Aspen. (for those 1st graders out there, an Aspen is a tree, and it is a “proper noun!” haha!)..btw I know it was a long story, haha! …that's the cynical cartoonist coming out of me!)

Anyone who wants to bag on me about “punctuation”. Too bad, this is my blog haha!) those who judge, get your own blog!

Anyway…

The “dad and me” days were over when my mom divorced my pop. Conjugal visits were minimal due to dads alcoholism. I suppose a little cynicism has always been a good release for me and my cartooning gene has been in me since the day I was born, (thanks to mom and dad, who were both very talented, creative people). Cartooning has always fascinated me, and I have always wondered what my motivation is. My biggest aspiration was to become a syndicated cartoonist and to dawn the pages of the LA times newspaper. (or any newspaper for that matter)

And, Well, I wasn’t to be sent here to the planet to be “beef”, and, never made the syndicate, but,  I do enjoy cartooning and making people laugh. I call it “senseless humor”.

In closing, I will try not to offend anyone… but, really? There  are some really funny things or situations to talk about, and to vent on these days.

Send me your story and we’ll post an editorial along with your story.

Thanks in advance for joining the party!

Anyway..
